Our mission is to provide high quality, substantive music and dramatic production materials to be used in a variety of settings to touch hearts and minds with timeless truths while supplying world-class, uplifting entertainment for the whole family.

Christy Stutzman: Executive Director/Playwright/ 
Lyricist/Composer

Mrs. Christy Stutzman is a wife, mother, writer, business owner, teacher and musician.  She has been a featured soloist at events, rallies and stage performances for the past 20 years, but her passion for musical composition remains her first love.

Christy grew up in a performing arts family, making her stage debut as well as composing her first published song when she was 5 years old. She traveled extensively with drama groups across the U.S. from age 13-19, and began to hone her skills in musical composition for anthem, solo, ensemble and mood music at the age of fifteen.  At the age of 22 she began writing and directing her own productions.

In 1995, she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Voice, studying under well-known tenor, Raymond Gibbs, formerly leading tenor at the Metropolitan Opera. After college, Mrs. Stutzman went on to study voice with  Miss Sarah Reese, Soprano, formerly of the Chicago and Boston Lyric Opera’s.  Mrs. Stutzman has taught fine arts on all grade levels and directed theater productions around the country.  She has written radio and television ads for political campaigns and has been a featured columnist for the Washington Times. She served as the NSDAR National Chorus Director from 2013-1016, directing the 120 voice All-American Chorus at the Continental Congress in Washington, DC each year. 

 

She co-founded Legacy Theatre Group in 2018 and is excited to be a partner in producing exciting new scripts as well as music for solo, choir, ensemble and musical theater productions.

Alex E. Price: Managing Artistic Director/Performer

Alex Price is a theatre administrator, manager, and award-winning director originally from South Bend, Indiana. Alex currently served as the Producing Artistic Director of The Round Barn Theatre with Legacy Theatre Group from 2021-2022 and currently serves as the Production Manager at Florida Studio Theatre. At the age of 22, Alex founded The 574 Theatre Company in South Bend, IN. 574 Theatre was a professional summer stock company that specialized in producing broadway-style theatre in the summer months. Alex oversaw all creative and administrative aspects of the business and helped shape the company that ran for 3 years before Covid-19 ceased operations and closed the organization down permanently.

With over 100 productions under his belt, Alex has directed, acted, or designed in productions across the midwest. As a director, Alex got his first professional directing contract at the age of 19 and has now directed over 50 professional productions including the Midwest premiere of A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, a nationally recognized Deaf Theatre production of Into the Woods,  and the world premiere of When Calls the Heart The Musical. 

Alex has years of experience in overseeing the creative and administrative operations of theatre organizations. He has vast knowledge in management, budgeting, financial planning, strategic planning, and capital fundraising. Alex graduated from Bethel University with a Bachelors of Arts in Theatre Arts, and also received training in theatre management from the Stratford Festival in Ontario, Canada, which is the largest theatre company in North America. In his free time he can be found rooting on the Notre Dame football team or the Chicago Cubs and Bears.

John Coates: Orchestrator/Arranger

John E. Coates is a multi-talented musician whose experience ranges from working in Las Vegas with country superstars Roy Clark & Minnie Pearl to orchestrating and conducting the Walt Disney EPCOT Center's inaugural Christmas Spectacular to serving as National Music Director for the Young Messiah Tour.  His 40-year tenure in Nashville includes two decades as Director of Music at Christ Presbyterian Church the historic distinction of creator and conductor of Nashville's first Christian event at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in 2006 with four performances since, and founder and Music Director of The Nashville Choir.  National Christian music companies have published more than 50 of his choral collections, musicals and piano books.  He is excited to be a founding partner in The Legacy Theatre Group and brings much expertise, color and flare to the orchestrations and arrangements in our musical productions and soundtracks.

Bethany Crawford: Co-Writer

With 30 years of experience in the dramatic arts, Bethany Crawford is a classically trained actress and has directed over 40 full-length plays and musicals.  She holds two Master’s degrees in performance and in directing and has taught acting, directing and theatre-craft on the college level for over 25 years.  As an accomplished actress, Bethany has performed leading roles in numerous productions, including a one-woman show of C.S. Lewis’ “Till We Have Faces.”  She has written, compiled, produced and directed numerous play productions and is a sought-after lecturer and motivational speaker.  Bethany loves to hear a good story and her passion for storytelling is what propels her to write and share quality, life-altering stories to an audience. Bethany is a mother and very devoted grandmother and enjoys living near her grand babies in Georgia.
